Patient case discussion and team collaboration
71 year old female with enlarged left axillary lymph nodes on mammography and ultrasound without breast primary. Lymph node biopsy shows G3 invasive ductal cancer that is ER/PR negative, HER 2 Neu positive. The patient was sent to the team who was invited to take care of the patient leading to a breast MRI, identifying the primary lesion in the breast and the patient undergoing preoperative chemotherapy including Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab followed by lumpectomy and axillary dissection with complete pathologic response and radiation therapy.
Comment: This is an example of team creation around patient care and maintaining an ongoing efficient discussion around that patient’s care. This can be done for any cancer site and many other complex interdisciplinary disease processes.
